David Houston was a long-time Managing Editor of RRPE.  He was also a fine 
and inspiring radical teacher and activist.  In 1996 David suffered a severe 
brain hemorrhage and has since had numerous strokes and seizures. With the 
help of his wife Jan Carlino, David has survived.  He can't do a lot of 
things but he is still a radical and still an activist.  His health, though, 
is not very good.

John Miller and I have written tributes to David, who was our professor at 
the University of Pittsburgh.  These tributes are on the web at
