[R-P] ¿Libertad de prensa?

Dos noticias interrelacionadas nos llegan desde Europa.

Por un lado, ante un requerimiento de Amnesty International, la OTAN se 
niega a declarar "crimen de guerra" el ataque misilístico al edificio de 
la televisión serbia, 10 años atrás, que provocó 16 muertes entre los 
trabajadores de prensa del lugar. Este ataque fue claramente una 
agresión militar contra un edificio civil.

Ninguna de las organizaciones que ahora defienden la libertad de prensa 
de los "hostigados" Clarín o La Nación levantó la voz contra este crimen 
de guerra. La OTAN, que por su parte ya liquidó el asunto en los 
tribunales que ella misma montó para limpiar sus crímenes. Este tribunal 
lo logró a condición de perpetrar a su vez una serie de crímenes 
jurídicos y quedar implicado en la dudosa forma en que murió el ex 
presidete yugoslavo Slobodan Milosevic.

Cabe señalar que el tema no nos  resulta totalmente ajeno, puesto que 
los aliados de la NATO de esos tiempos han participado últimamente en 
diversas actividades delictivas en la Media Luna boliviana, y puesto que 
también hay que recordar que en esos tribunales truchos y a gusto del 
vencedor tuvieron parte la actual jueza de la Suprema Corte Carmen 
Argibay Molina y -especialmente- la embajadora de Suiza en la Argentina, 
Carla del Ponte.

Por otro lado, una información que llega desde Belgrado da cuenta de que 
la provincia de Kosovo participará de sesiones del FMI y del Banco 
Mundial. Sí, leyeron bien, la provincia de Kosovo. Es como si la 
provincia de Misiones participara de ese tipo de reuniones.

En qué se unen las dos noticias? En que acallar la voz del contrario 
(ataque a la televisora serbia) para que no pueda transmitir su verdad 
(por ejemplo, que Kosovo es una provincia serbia, y no puede asistir a 
una reunión de organización alguna del sistema de Naciones Unidas) es 
para la OTAN un acto de guerra justificado.

Y tienen cierta razón: los grandes medios, la SIP y otras instituciones 
similares son hoy en día parte esencial del aparato de inteligencia 
imperialista; son un ejército de ocupación mental. Quienes se oponen a 
esa dictadura que hoy parece hacer pasar por "normal" que una provincia 
de cierto país forme parte de foros internacionales son enemigos.

Corresponde atacarlos como sea.

Razón de más para que en la Argentina se apruebe la ley de Medios de 
Comunicación Audiovisual propuesta por el gobierno de Cristina. O algo 
más duro todavía, claro.

Brussels - NATO rejected a demand by Amnesty International that it be 
held accountable for civilian deaths caused by the bombing of Serbian 
television building 10 years ago.

NATO's spokeswoman Carmen Romero said the incident has been investigated 
thoroughly by the international war crimes tribunal for the former 
Yugoslavia as part of the overall investigation into the 1999 campaign. 
"The main conclusion was that NATO has no case to answer".

Romero said during the war the station's transmitters formed an integral 
part of the strategic communications network. On that basis, the war 
crimes prosecutor concluded that there was no basis into any of the 
allegations or into other incidents related to NATO air campaign, she added.

Human rights watchdog Amnesty International (AI) said in a statement 
issued on Thursday that NATO's bombing was a deliberate attack on 
civilian object and as such constitutes a war crime. It called on NATO 
to launch a war crimes probe into the attack, in which 16 media workers 
were killed, to ensure full accountability and redress for victims and 
their families.

Kosovo delegation to attend IMF, WB sessions

PRISTINA - A Kosovo delegation will take part in the work of the spring
session of the International Monetary Fund and the World Bank.

At the invitation of these international financial organizations, a
delegation from Kosovo, led by Economy and Finance Minister Ahmet Shala,
will travel to Washington.

The World Bank’s spring session will be held on April 25 and 26.

The Kosovo government has announced that Shala and Kosovo National Bank
Governor Hashim Rexhepi will meet with these institutions’ senior
representatives and a number of CEOs and governors from other national
banks.

They will also have meetings at the U.S. State Department, the White House
and the U.S. Treasury.

The main theme of these meetings will be the province’s membership of the
IMF and World Bank, which, says Pristina, is likely to to be confirmed in
May.
