This week on the show,

Two months ago, a play opened at the Royal Court Theatre in London. A
mere ten minutes long, it was the work of the well-known feminist
playwright Caryl Churchill.

It is called Seven Jewish Children and it is about the Israel/Gaza War.

It is also about death, honesty, politics, anger and the state of
Israel itself.

The whirlwind of controversy was immediate. It was denounced as anti-
semitic and praised for its theatrical and emotional power.

Since February it has played all over the UK, the United States and
tonight it comes to Canada, to Montreal.

Few are neutral about its impact. It is one of those artistic events
that can either hurt or heal. Or perhaps both.

In addition to controversy it has also sparked debate. And this
morning we are going to hear that debate.

But to do so, we feel it is important that you hear the play as it
will be performed tonight in Montreal.

In our first Hour, Seven Jewish Children; the play and its aftermath.
