On March 14/15, activists in Staten Island NY produced an action called "Ar=
lington New York," placing 200+ crosses on South Beach to mark the US milit=
ary killed in Iraq and Afghanistan.=A0 They didn't stop with US deaths; sho=
es marked the huge number of civilians killed in the occupations.=A0 Elaine=
Brower reports that people from NJ, CT and Long Island drove to visit, upo=
n seeing news coverage, asking "what is going on with this war?"=A0=20

This is the day to protest!=A0 Talk to your local news media about why huma=
nity is in mourning over the US occupations of Iraq and Afghanistan, and wh=
y they must end.=A0 And, talk to them about this news:
The Obama administration is considering spreading the "war on terror" deepe=
r into Pakistan, beyond the tribal areas, and into the city of Quetta. The =
New York Times says the chances of civilian casualties are very high should=
the US risk igniting mass protest against this violation of Pakistan's sov=
ereignty. However, the risks for the Obama administration of not expanding =
the war is great, from the standpoint of perpetuating the American mission =
to control the Middle East.
The growing use of unmanned drones, piloted from trailers in the US, to att=
ack homes of "insurgents" in Afghanistan and Pakistan, could also lead to s=
preading opposition in those countries, as the civilian death toll grows.=
=A0 But adding more US troops to Afghanistan, as we have already been warne=
d by Secretary of Defense Gates, will bring more US casualties.=20
