Other important things to note on this are the number of community
recall/ballot initiatives started by community groups throughout the US
who have fought to remove Diebold machines because (hiding behind
copyright law) they are illegal to even know how they operate. There is
no possibility of a recount when such machines are used. In Venezuela,
they use such machines but also spit out a paper copy of the vote, which
is separately stored and stands as a possible paper recount in case of
any doubts in the vote.
