Dear Supporter of a Just Foreign Policy
President Bush mentioned the possibility of "World War III" last week when
asked about Iran.1 Many dismissed it as an off-hand comment, but others in
the White House, notably Vice-President Cheney, are actively promoting war
with Iran - a war which could have devastating and lasting consequences.
Meanwhile, some pro-Cheney millionaires calling themselves "Freedom's
Watch" will run ads designed to convince Americans of the need for more
war.2
In response, we are ramping up our peace efforts. We are producing videos
against attacking Iran for wide distribution on the Web and TV. We will
also take this message on a high-profile tour across the United States.
To make this possible, we're counting on you. We have thousands of
supporters, and if everyone chipped in with a (tax deductible) donation,
we would be able to do all this and more.
Can you contribute $100, $50, $25 or $10 to our effort to prevent war with
Iran?

The short films we are planning to release highlight the danger and
absurdity of attacking Iran. We plan to use them to reach a wide audience
on the Web and television.
In addition, we are organizing a nationwide tour against war with Iran,
including award-winning New York Times journalist Stephen Kinzer. Kinzer
is publishing a new introduction to his book about the 1953 US-promoted
coup in Iran, "All the Shah's Men," in which he argues that the blowback
from the coup should serve as a warning against an attack on Iran today.
(For information on bringing the tour to your community, see below.)3
Until President Bush and Vice-President Cheney leave office, the risk of
war with Iran is high. These efforts will reduce that risk, but we cannot
carry them out effectively without your financial support.
Please chip in what you can, $100, $50, $25, or $10, to counter the
war-hawks in the Bush administration.
