a puppet police patrol in the al-Baghdadi area, about 200km
northwest of Baghdad, on Monday evening.

at about 8:30pm Monday night.
The correspondent for Mafkarat al-Islam reported eyewitnesses as
saying that the attack set off explosions that could be heard a
great distance away.
Baghdad.
Iraqi "commanders" of Bush al-Maliki Offensive against Baghdad
population named.
In a dispatch posted at 10:36pm Makkah time Tuesday night, Mafkarat
al-Islam reported that as the launch of the awaited joint offensive
by US and puppet Iraqi regime forces on Baghdad approaches, Salam
Zakam az-Zawbi`i, a prominent member of the Sunni sectarian Muslim
Brotherhood and of the collaborationist "Islamic Party" announced
that he would be one of the commander in the campaign.
The correspondent for Mafkarat al-Islam reported that puppet regime
officials have been saying that the count down for the launch of the
offensive has already begun and that in addition to the pro-American
Sunni az-Zawbi`i, the other commanders are to be one Kurd and two
Shi`ah.
The correspondent reported that az-Zawbi`i ran in the
parliamentary "elections" staged by the US occupation forces and was
then nominated by the "Islamic Party" for the role of deputy puppet
prime minister for security affairs an honorary position with no
real power. Az- Zawbi`i has occupied that post for a long period
having no impact on events as the regime and its sectarian militia
allies drove Sunnis out of various neighborhoods of Baghdad.
Iraqis were therefore stunned, the correspondent reported, to learn
that az-Zawbi`i had been chosen as one of the commanders in the
Bush - al-Maliki Offensive, which is aimed at driving Sunnis out of
Baghdad after many have already been violently expelled from Hayfa
Street, and the districts of al-Hurriyah, and Baghdad al-Jadidah.
According to information available to Mafkarat al-Islam in Baghdad,
the four Iraqi commanders chosen to lead the Bush al-Maliki
Offensive are:
1. `Abbud Qanbar, a commander in the Shi`i sectarian Badr
Brigades.
2. Barham Salih, the husband of the sister of `Abd al-`Aziz al-
Hakim, the chief of the pro-American "Supreme Council for the
Islamic Revolution in Iraq" (SCIRI). Salih is a Kurd who formerly
held a high rank in the Kurdish separatist Peshmergah militia and
took part in attacks on the Ansar al-Islam Resistance organization
in northern Iraq. He was awarded a badge of honor by US forces for
his service to the American occupation. Known for his ties
to "Israel," Salih has been active in "normalizing" relations
between Kurds and Jews under the occupation.
3. Salam az-Zawbi`i, a member of the Muslim Brotherhood, he has
a Ph.D. in soil and water sciences from al-Anbar University (2000).
4. Ahmad Chelebi, a prominent personality on whom the US
depended when it launched its invasion and occupation of Iraq. A
Shi`i, he has lived at times in Iran and at times in the US since
the occupation of Iraq in 2003. He has been charged with mobilizing
support among Shi`ah in Iraq for the Bush al-Maliki Offensive.
The correspondent reported that az-Zawbi`i was to be the official
spokesman of the offensive in an attempt to conceal the sectarian
nature of the military drive. He added that the "Islamic Party" was
swept by mass resignations on Tuesday following the announcement of
az-Zawbi`i's role. Those quitting the party denounced it
for "departing from its principles" and for failing to deliver on
what it promised would be protection for the Sunni population if
they joined the American-run "political process."
Resistance fighters ambush US patrol 1km from "Green Zone" Tuesday
as a reported 13 American troops die in Baghdad Tuesday.
In a dispatch posted at 10:10pm Makkah time Tuesday night, Mafkarat
al-Islam reported that in what appeared to be one of the clearest

patrol in as-Salihiyah Tuesday, just one kilometer from the top
security "Green Zone" area around the Republican Palace. Employees

propelled grenades from the direction of a clinic in the area.Five
American troops and two puppet Iraqi army soldiers were killed in
the ambush, Mafkarat al-Islam reported. Two US military vehicles
and one Iraqi puppet army vehicle were all seen on fire on the
scene, which US forces locked down the scene for four hours, also
closing down the shops and clinic in the area.
In addition to the bomb attacks on US forces, the Iraqi Resistance
pounded four US bases in the Iraqi capital with rockets and Shells
on Tuesday. Hit were the US base in the Baghdad district of
