I had a conversation the other day with a friend about gentrification and I
disagreed with her with respect to our(advocates of social justice) role in
the scheme of gentrification. She said we need to realize the role that we
play in gentrification. some activist,I would say middle class, may have a
role in increasing property values through the simple fact that they are
middle class which can lead to speculation that those meighbourhoods will
become less"sketchy", but a large part of gentrification I think is based on
ideology and values. If you have values that are based on principals of social
justice and advocate in your community against gentrification, can you them be
called a gentrifier?? I decided to put this on wikipedia, I went to edided it
today and it said it may be taked down cus it does not meet theregulations. So
hopfully the new edit will hep it stay.If any out there agree with me and wish
to expand on the article, feel free to go and edit it on wikipedia

''Social justice-ification''' - a process whereby the changing demographics of
a community are based on principals of social justice.
unlike it's opposite, gentrification,(which also is a process of changing
the demographics of a community)Social justice-ification is a process that is
controlled by people who believe in social justice. Gentrification on the
other hand is a process controlled by Global Capital. Advocates of the theory
of Social justice-ification understand that the demographics of a community
change from time to time and they do not accept that the changes in the
demographics of any community, not just traditional working-class communities,
should by in the hands of a small minority(the upper class) who's only desires
are to make money and to see the continuation of capitalism with all it's
oppression, explotation and coercive authority.
Social justice-ification is a process that can also be applied to upper
class communities which makes the theory of Social Justice-ification an
essential tool when it comes to building a classless society. The ability for
Social Justice-ification to be used as both a defensive and offensive tool is
one of the reasons this theory is so appealing to people around the world.
Some people may ask why a new term was needed, why can't gentrification be
reclaimed by the oppressed, exploited and marginalized of the world? The
reason why the term gentrification cannot be reclaimed should be self-evident.
the term gentry refers to the ruling class and every time people talk about
gentrification, it is understood that it is a process that is controlled by
the ruling class. The time has come for a new term to be born to aid advocates
of social justice and to defend against Global Capitalism and all it's ugly
manifestations, including gentrification.
