by an Iraqi puppet army patrol, destroying a puppet "National Guard"
pickup and killing three Iraqi puppet troops and wounding two more
of them.
In the second attack an Iraqi Resistance sharpshooter shot and

Baghdad.
General Command of Iraqi Armed Forces Resistance group
rejects "National Reconciliation" offer of US-installed "Prime
Minister" Nuri al-Maliki.
The General Command of the Iraqi Armed Forces, a major part of the
Iraqi Resistance movement opposed to the US occupation, issued a
statement on Tuesday in which it denied claims by the media that it
had accepted the so-called "National Reconciliation" proposal of US-
installed Iraqi "Prime Minister" Nuri al-Maliki.
The General Command statement, posted on the albasrah.net patriotic
website read in part:
"News media have carried yet another of the lies and fabrications
invented by the occupation, infidel forces and behind them the
sectarian puppet that is falsely called the `Iraqi Government' the
substance of which is that some of the jihadi organizations have
agreed to the initiative of the stooge al-Maliki for reconciliation
and that among those organizations is the General Command of the
Armed Forces.
"While we expect that no intelligent person could believe such a
lie, we declare to the whole world that the General Command of the
Armed Forces, which has had the honor of fighting the infidel
American tyrant since the year 1991 and until today continues to do
so, continues its jihad along with the rest of the jihad and
resistance organizations until the land of Iraq is liberated from
the desecration of the invader occupiers and is completely purged of
stooges, hypocrites, traitors, and sectarians like al-Maliki, and
until the law of God is established in the land.
"The so-called `al-Maliki Initiative' is nothing but the illusion
and dream of the frustrated and desperate enemy and his little
lackeys who are fantasizing about a way to get out of the real
disaster in which they are embroiled in the land of Iraq where they
will be repelled and defeated by the grace of God.
"As for God's army, which is made up of honorable Iraqis and Arabs
who are fervent about their religion and their nation, it is
carrying on its jihad until total victory is attained."
The statement by the General Command came one day after the Iraqi
Baath Party issued a statement analyzing and rejecting the "al-
Maliki Initiantive."
"What are the contents and conditions of this `reconciliation' and
with whom are we to reconcile?" the Baath Party statement asked
rhetorically, and went on:
"The idea of this reconciliation is based on the renunciation
of `violence' as the occupation administration calls it, and
agreeing to become a part of the political process, even as the
Americans continue to refuse even to set out a timetable for their
withdrawal! Instead of that, American officials talk about
remaining in Iraq for a long time to come, and about building bases
and airports! Therefore the `reconciliation' can only mean one
thing, and that is the acceptance of the occupation and its results"
The Baath Party statement went on to say:
"Putting a halt now to the armed resistance at a time when it is at
the gates of decisive victory would be the greatest possible
betrayal of Iraq, an ignominious retreat from the promise of its
liberation, an unacceptable abandonment of the rights of Iraq and
the Iraqis who have been killed, raped, imprisoned, and tortured."
The Baath Party statement addressed the "heroic fighters in the holy
struggle" saying:
"What has enabled you to bring defeat to the mightiest and most
brutal, barbaric, and bloody dictatorship in the whole history of
the world has been the will to reject the occupation and to take up
arms to express that will, not to bargain, negotiate, and rely on
promises that the occupation can abandon if ever, God forbid, the
arms of the Resistance are lowered and set aside in stockpiles! The
fundamental guarantee of the continuation of the revolution and its
attainment of decisive victory is the rejection of bargaining, the
refusal to lay down arms, regardless of promises. For allowing the
enemy alone to bear arms would once again strip the most ardent
patriot of the ability to resist if the occupiers should break their
word as is their custom. In that situation every patriot would be
faced with only one of two choices: either to collaborate
unconditionally with the occupation or to die or be tortured at the
hands of the occupation and its gangs. Therefore the path to
decisive victory lies not through the United Nations or the Arab
League or negotiations with the occupation under its conditions, or
collaborating with stooges. Victory only comes out of the barrel of
the gun of the militant. So keep hold of your weapons! Make them
your sure path to victory, your only guarantee that the occupation
will be prevented from playing its cards and the cards of its
lackeys to try to circumvent the Resistance or some of the
Resistance organizations."
The text of the Baath Party statement concluded, saying:
"The fundamental way to complete the march to decisive victory is
the militant gun, combined and integrated with a broad national
front embracing all those who reject the occupation!"

Russia takes aim at US occupation authorities over murders of
diplomats in Iraq.
The Russian news agency RIA-Novosti reported Tuesday that Russian
presidential envoy Anatoly Safonov had said that Russia would
determine how far the American occupation forces in Iraq were
responsible for the execution by the al-Qa`idah organization in Iraq
of four Russian diplomats there.
"We must determine the responsibility of the forces that should be
keeping order," Anatoly Safonov said.
"We openly say that if a state guarantees order, then state
structures should bear responsibility, and if it's coalition forces,
then they should keep order, and we will be in contact with them."
Russia's foreign minister Sergei Lavrov said Tuesday that his
country would make every effort to bring to justice the murderers of
the four diplomats.
Lavrov told journalists that efforts were being taken so that "the
relatives [of the four men] can receive and bury the bodies of our
comrades, and so that the criminals who committed this ghastly crime
are found and brought to justice," RIA-Novosti Reported.
RIA-Novosti noted that on Sunday, al-Jazeera satellite TV reported
referring to an Internet statement made by al-Qa`idah in Iraq that
the four Russian embassy staffers had been murdered in revenge for
what al-Qa`idah claimed was "the torture, killing and expulsion of
our brothers and sisters by the infidel Russian government" in the
Russian territory of Chechnya.

coffee house and wounded 32 more, some of them puppet police.
