Message from the Leonard Peltier Legal Team and the Leonard Peltier
Defense Committee
To: Leonard Peltier Supporters
From: Leonard Peltier Legal Team and the Leonard Peltier Defense Committee
Subject: Case # 06-1405-cv United States Court of Appeals for the Second
Circuit in Manhattan
Dear Supporters,

The legal team has filed the following brief with the United States Court
of
Appeals for the Second Circuit in Manhattan. In this case, the legal team
is seeking the production of FBI documents which the government is
withholding on, among other grounds, national security. This is the first
of several legal filings that have been prepared to require the FBI to
produce the documents it has been withholding for over 30 years. Put
simply, it is our position that the government would not be fighting so
hard
to keep these documents secret unless it had something to hide.

FW: In Memory of.......From the Leonard Peltier Defense Committee
Subject: In Memory of- From the Leonard Peltier Defense Committee
Greetings Leonard Peltier Supporters,

June 26, 2006 will mark the 31st anniversary of the "reign of terror"
period, that changed many people's lives forever. In 1975 our warrior and
brother, Joe Killsright Stuntz was killed in a shootout that occurred on
the
Jumping Bull compound in Oglala. Two FBI agents, Jack Coler and Ron
Williams, were also killed.

The past thirty years supporters have gathered at Oglala to honor the
lives
that were lost on June 26, 1975 and the "reign of terror." This year will
be the seventh year that the Oglala Commemoration Committee has sponsored
the gathering. For those of us that are unable to physically attend the
gathering at Oglala, we each honor and remember this day in our own
special
way. People worldwide remember this day each year. Some supporters will be
holding prayer vigils, hosting their own gathering, showing "Incident at
Oglala" or hosting a chat room. Each dedicated to Joe Stuntz and Leonard
Peltier, which today still remains as a political prisoner falsely
convicted
of killing the two FBI agents.

The Leonard Peltier Defense Committee would like to ask each of our
supporters to help us continue our fight for Leonard's freedom by joining
us
in the "Freedom Walk" for Leonard Peltier. By sponsoring a stone (one time
basis or monthly) you are helping towards Leonard's ongoing legal
campaign.

Please see www.freedomwalk.com <http://www.freedomwalk.com/> or the LPDC
website @ www.leonardpeltier.net <http://www.leonardpeltier.net/> for
additional information regarding the Freedom Walk.

What will you do to commemorate June 26th? Please consider sponsoring a
stone in memory of Joe Stuntz and for the freedom of Leonard Peltier. We
would also like to invite you to join the commemoration chat room, which
will be held on June 25th, details to follow soon.

Some of our supporters have already been letting us know what they will be
doing on June 26th. We at the LPDC would like to hear from you! Let us
know
how you will be remembering all of those that died during the Reign of
Terror. We will be updating the website with all your ideas, vigils and
gatherings that will be taking place. Please let Leonard know he has not
been forgotten and that his supporters worldwide continue to stand beside
him and demand his freedom.

Our thoughts and prayers are with the families of all the victims from the
"reign of terror."

In the Spirit of Crazy Horse.............

Leonard Peltier Defense Committee

Statement from Leonard on 30th anniversary ~ June 26, 2005

"You will always be in my prayers. Do what you can, where you can, from
where you stand and - to quote Sitting Bull - let's see what kind of
nation
we can make for our children. I don't say I love you easily but I want
you
to know that I love you - my heart is with you and never, never, never
give
up!" Leonard Peltier

JOIN US ON OUR FREEDOM WALK FOR LEONARD PELTIER - FROM THE LEONARD
PELTIER DEFENSE COMMITTEE
"Our work will be unfinished until not one human being is hungry, or
battered, not one single person is forced to die in war, not one innocent
languishes imprisoned and no one is persecuted for his or her beliefs."

Leonard Peltier

The LPDC and Legal team relay solely on donations and fundraising events
to
pay for the ongoing operational expenses of the office, legal filing fees
and copying cost expenses. We are committed to continue working towards
Leonard's freedom and have developed a plan where if each one of us were
to
donate a contribution we can continue our fight for Leonard's freedom.

The FBI continues with their ongoing "Ministry of Propaganda,"in their
efforts to undercut Leonard's freedom. Let us not forget their past
efforts
to make sure LP continues to serve an unjust sentence.

Falsified Affidavits, tortured witness and withheld evidence

On November 3, 1999, fearing President Clinton was going to grant clemency
to Leonard Peltier, the FBI Agents Association, a powerful lobby of
retired
and active agents warned Clinton through Newspaper and radio ads that
Peltiers release would be a " moral blow to the entire community of law
enforcement professionals in the United States"

On December 15, 2000, FBI agents marched to the White House to oppose
clemency for Leonard. The Los Angeles Times described the demonstration as
"an unprecedented show of political activism" by the FBI. This was an
open
act of intimidation by a key unit of the system's armed enforcers. The FBI
illegally used public funds to intimidate and control the judicial system.

The legal team has discovered a 1993 FBI document in which it has put
forth
its strategy to insure that Leonard is never free form his illegal
imprisonment.

The fight for Leonard's Freedom will go on. We at the LPDC and Legal team
have developed a plan where if each one of us were to donate a
contribution
we can continue our fight for Leonard's freedom. No contribution is too
small! We are offering Our Freedom Walk Campaign as a viable path where we
can all walk together toward's Leonard's freedom. Join us! There is a lot
of
work to do!

Let's show Leonard that he is not forgotten! Enough is Enough! Let those
who want to keep Leonard illegally incarcerated know that we are not
going
away and that each one of us will walk proudly with him as we join the
Freedom walk. Let Leonard know that we are not going away and that each
one
of us will walk proudly with him as we join the Freedom Walk! Together we
can do it, let's bring Leonard Home!

Note: Faternal Service.com is an online virtual fundraising organization
that is assisting the LPDC in our efforts to raise funds.

Thank you

Leonard Peltier Defense Committee and Leonard Peltier Legal Team.

"I will never forget the taste of Freedom. Nor will I forget the sight of
sunrise and or the sunset. One day I hope to see those again"

Leonard Peltier
