of the pro-American Shi`i sectarian Badr Brigades.

Baghdad.

Resistance bomber blasts Buratha Shi`i mosque, a headquarters of the 
pro-American Shi`i sectarian Badr Brigades.

In a dispatch posted at 12:27pm Makkah time Friday afternoon, 
Mafkarat al-Islam reported that a short while earlier a powerful 
blast rocked the Buratha Shi ` mosque, a headquarters of the pro-
American Shi`i sectarian Badr Brigades in Baghdad

The correspondent for Mafkarat al-Islam reported eyewitnesses as 
saying that an Iraqi Resistance fida'i fighter blew himself up 
inside the mosque headquarters.  Medical sources said that a large 
number of people had been killed or wounded in the attack.  The fate 
of Jalal as-Saghir the imam of the mosque and a leader in the Badr 
Brigade militia was not immediately known.

The Buratha Mosque is widely rumored to be a scene of imprisonment, 
torture, and murder of Sunnis.  It is said to be the worst of 
such "slaughter houses" according to local stories, the Mafkarat al-
Islam correspondent reported.  The correspondent reported that 
Mafkarat al-Islam had been the first media outlet to expose the 
murders that were taking place in the mosque, prompting the pro-
American Imam as-Saghir to verbally attack Mafkarat al-Islam and to 
move evidence of bodies elsewhere.

In a dispatch posted at 2:33pm, the correspondent for Mafkarat al-
Islam reported a source in the puppet "National Guard" as saying 
that the Resistance bomber was hoping to blow up the Imam as-Saghir, 
a commander in the Badr Brigades, whose fate was still unknown at 
the time of reporting.

In a dispatch posted at 3:10pm Makkah time Friday afternoon, 
Mafkarat al-Islam reported a medical source as saying that the toll 
in the bombing of the al-Buratha mosque was 11 dead and 28 wounded.

Puppet regime forces, Shi`i sectarian gunmen seal off, storm Sunni 
as-Salkih neighborhood on retaliatory rampage following Resistance 
attack on al-Buratha mosque headquarters of Badr Brigades.

In a dispatch posted at 5:55pm Makkah time Friday afternoon, 
Mafkarat al-Islam reported that more than 300 puppet "Iraqi Interior 
Ministry Shock Trooops (Maghwir)" together with pro-American Shi`i 
sectarian Badr Brigade militiamen stormed the predominantly Sunni as-
Salikh district of northeaster Baghdad following the bombing attack 
on the Badr Brigade headquarters in the al-Buratha Shi`i mosque at 
middady.

The correspondent for Mafkarat al-Islam reported that the pro-
American Shi`i sectarians including the puppet "Interior Ministry 
Shock Troops" – most of whose members are concurrently members of 
the sectarian militias – had nearly completely sealed off the 
largely Sunni district of as-Salikh.  The Shi`i sectarians filled 
and closed off the wide Jami` al-Furqan Street, as  well as Muhammad 
al-Qasim Street, and another large thoroughfare the al-Qanat Bridge 
Street.

Local residents told Mafkarat al-Islam that the Shi`i sectarians had 
launched into indiscriminate raids and searches and had arrested 
numerous local residents in a retaliatory campaign that was still 
under way at the time of reporting.

Al-Hajj Muhammad Haraj, a local notable in the area, told the 
correspondent for Mafkarat al-Islam that the assault on the as-
Salikh neighborhood was a sectarian retaliation for the Resistance 
bombing of the Badr Brigade headquarters in the al-Buratha mosque.

Diyala Province.
Ba`qubah.

Bombed collaborator's house falls on neighbor's home, killing four 
children.

In a dispatch posted at 2pm Makkah time Friday afternoon, Mafkarat 
al-Islam reported that four children were killed and their father 
and mother wounded when a series of bombs exploded inside a house 
that was under construction in the middle of Ba`qubah, about 65km 
northeast of Baghdad, on Thursday-Friday night.  The house that was 
under construction fell on a neighboring home, causing the 
casualties.

The correspondent for Mafkarat al-Islam reported that the father and 
mother were taken to al-Jumlah al-`Asabiyah Hospital in Ba`qubah 
during the night.  The house that was blown up in the bombing 
belonged to a collaborator by the anem of Mahmud Mas`ud who has been 
working for the US occupation at the so-called Center for Joint 
American Coordination.  Although the collaborator' home was targeted 
by the blast, a large part of it collapsed on the neighboring house, 
killing four children and seriously wounding their parents.

Iraqi puppet army colonel shot dead by Iraqi Resistance fighters 
Thursday night.

In a dispatch posted at 11:40am Makkah time Friday morning, Mafkarat 
al-Islam reported that Iraqi Resistance fighters assassinated 
Colonel Ahmad `Abdallah the commander of the Third battalion of the 
Second Division of the Iraqi puppet army, which operates in the 
north of the country, on Thursday night.

The al-Mawsil correspondent for Mafkarat al-Islam reported a source 
in the Iraqi puppet police as saying that  Resistance fighters 
stormed into the house of Colonel `Abdallah and sprayed him with a 
hail of bullets, killing him instantly.  The source said that 
ambulances showed up at the house after neighbors called them and 
the colonel's corpse was then taken to the hospital in the city.

Tall `Afar.

Resistance bomb kills three puppet army troops Thursday evening.

In a dispatch posted at 11:20kkah time Friday morning, Mafkarat al-
Islam reported that an Iraqi Resistance bomb exploded by an Iraqi 
puppet army patrol on al-Bawwari Street I the middle of Tall `Afar 
in northern Iraq on Thursday evening.

The correspondent for Mafkarat al-Islam reported a source in the 
Iraqi puppet army as saying on Friday morning that the bomb killed 
or wounded five Iraqi puppet army troops.  Dr. `Umar Sami of the 
city hospital said that three Iraqi puppet army soldiers were killed 
and two more wounded, one of them a first lieutenant.

Maysan Province.
Al-`Amarah.

Resistance barrages drive British troops out of their base and into 
animal pens for the night.

In a dispatch posted at 1:15pm Makkah time Friday afternoon, 
Mafkarat al-Islam reported that Iraqi Resistance forces battered 
British troops in their base near al-`Amarah in southeastern Iraq 
during Thursday-Friday night, forcing them to take refuge in pens 
for goats and water buffaloes over night.

The al-`Amarah correspondent for Mafkarat al-Islam reported that the 
Resistance fired five Katyusha rockets at the main British base 
located 5km from the city at 2am Friday morning.  The barrages set 
fires burning in the northern part of the base, which was shaken a 
short while later by six explosions that were so powerful that they 
were felt in nearby villages as well.

A source in the Iraqi puppet police told Mafkarat al-Islam that 
ambulances, fire trucks, and helicopters raced to the base.  As they 
were working to extinguish the flames and evacuate the wounded and 
dead, the Resistance fired four more mortar shells into the British-
occupied facility, forcing the British troops to flee their base 
spend the night in the water buffalo and goat pens in the al-Furat 
(Euphrates) Village neighborhood.
