giant paper crane on the park strip downtown, August 5th for August 6th.
Whether the crane project comes together or not, we will float candles on
Westchester Lagoon -- even though it is difficult to find any dark hours 
in
summer for them to be visible. Both go under the title "Hiroshima
Observance".

Brief description of Event: Commemoration of  dropping of the atomic bombs
on Hiroshima and Nagasaki, August 6th and 9th, 1945 and a call for total
abolition of nuclear weapons.  Participants will make lanterns,   letters
will be read from Mayors of Hiroshima and Nagasaki, lanterns lit and 
placed
on rafts and towed out to sea by kayaks while   flute music plays.

Brief Description of Event: The Shadow Project is political art, by the
people, for the world where people all over the world will make chalk
shadows on the streets of our cities, remembering the human shadows burnt
into the streets of Hiroshima by nuclear bombs.  We do this on the eve of
Hiroshima Day, August 6th, with the hope of preventing nuclear shadows 
from
