The Greens in 2004 do not say, as Nader did four years
ago, that there's no difference between Democrats and
Republicans--just not enough difference. A provocative
comparison of party positions on the Greens' website lists
WHAT GREENS OPPOSE and both major parties support:

[1] war in Afghanistan and Iraq,
[2] the Patriot Act,
[3] Israeli occupation of the West Bank,
[4] corporate agriculture,
[5] corporate welfare,
[6] corporate rules for global trade,
[7] bank deregulation,
[8] increasing military spending,
[9] the death penalty.

GREENS SUPPORT and Democrats and Republicans oppose:

[1] national health insurance,
[2] doubling the minimum wage,
[3] full public financing for candidates,
[4] strict controls on genetically modified organisms,
[5] the landmine-ban treaty,
[6] real action on global warming,
[7] a new legal doctrine of workers' rights for Americans,
[8] electoral reforms that create the political space
for a multiparty democracy.
