Anniversary of the death of Che Guevara 9 October
I wrote this poem before 9/11 and sent it out widely on the internet.
Among replies was one from Grace in Patagonia, Argentina.
She asked if she could translate the poem. I said sure. It is below the 
English version.

America the Giant at High Noon
America the giant
walks tall at high-noon
bosses and bullies
telling the world:
"Here's the New Order,
Washington Rules.
And if you defy me
I'll starve you with Sanctions
I'll bomb you and blast you
Back to the Stone Age;
Go back directly
Don't go to the World Bank
Don't borrow two billion.
Monopoly is my game
bit-players, remember:
Washington Rules."

This giant who blackened
two Japanese cities
made nuclear weapons
for rocket and jet
made them so small
they fit in a suitcase.

This giant has forgotten
Jack the Giant Killer
This strutting Goliath
ignores David's sling.

My poem is written as a warning about the abuse of power in the nuclear 
age. If you starve or bomb the people of Iraq, Yugoslavia (or Chechnya), 
eventually someone is going to pack a suitcase. Then the ordinary decent 
people of the  USA (or Russia) will have to pay a terrible price for the 
crimes of their leaders.

America el Gigante a Mediodia

               America el gigante
               camina alto a mediodia
               manda e intimida
              diciendole al mundo:

               "Aqui esta el Nuevo Orden,
              Washington Manda..
              Y si me desafian
              Los hare morir de hambre con Sanciones
              Los bombardeare y volare
              Hasta la Edad de Piedra;
               Vuelvan directamente
              No vayan al Banco Mundial
              No pidan dos billones.
              El Monopolio es mi juego
              Jugadores pequenos, recuerden:
              Washington Manda."

              Este gigante que ennegrecio
              dos ciudades japonesas
              hizo armas nucleares
              para cohetes y jets
              las hizo tan pequenas
  .           que entran en una maleta.

               Este gigante ha olvidado
               Jack el Asesino Gigante
               Este Goliat que se pavonea
               ignora la honda de David.
