Sarcasm aside, it's simply a comment on a history-in-process writing that 
we see happening here, and I've noticed (not in Sid's case) that many of us 
casually accept the "to stop ethnic cleansing" theses on the Nato war, 
despite that I'm certain all of us remember this much: The bombs started to 
fall, then people showed up at borders in huge numbers.

Perhaps it was a remark of frustration at how some people "save time" by 
ceding the actual historical record, and then try to spin that "left".
