Hello all,
here is an update for everyone here. The nominations process for the
Progressive Webgroup Alliance has been changed slightly. Please do support
this group and
your
other favourites! (if you use the form at our website/message board please
remember not to leave any fields blank - at least enter "0" or "n/a") Some
more information below from the Progressive
Webgroup Alliance:
The your favourite group vote last year was very successful, and this
year we are giving all allied groups members and visitors the
opportunity to vote in 8 categories, they will be:
Your favourite allied webgroup
Your favourite non-allied webgroup
Your favourite allied website
""""""""""""""" non allied website
""""""""""""""" allied message board
""""""""""""""" non allied message board
""""""""""""""" mailing list
""""""""""""""" non allied mailing list
Nominations are invited until later in the year, and there are now 2
nomination systems running in tandem. (Please chose the method of
nominating and suppoting your favourites which you feel most at ease
with)
1st method of nominating your favourites:
Please fill out the easy to fill in form (you do not need to give a
name or email address) at the main page of our message boards-
http://progressive.proboards24.com , or at our website -
http://progressivewebgroupalliance.bravehost.com - all fields are
required to be completed (although if you do not wish to make an
entry in any of the boxes then please just type 0 or N/A)
Although there are 8 categories in this years vote, this form has
been designed to make it simpler for those who are not sure whether a
particular website, group, message board, or mailing list is allied
to the PWA or not.
The form purely asks for your favourite websites, message boards,
mailing lists and websites and asks you to rate those choices on a
scale of 1 to 10 in the box below the space where you enter your
favourites.
(These points will be added to the actual votes cast later in the
year, and will help decide which websites, groups, message boards and
mailing lists make it to the final shortlist!)
2nd method of nominating your favourites:
Please post a nomination under the relevant thread, however, first
read the following:
A person can nominate as many groups/websites/message boards/mailing
lists as they wish. However, for the nominated to go forward to the
actual vote, it will require at least 2 people who second the
nomination, anyone can second a nomination.
Managers or owners of websites, mailing lists, message boards and
groups can nominate those they manage.
Also, if you own or manage a combination of the above, you can post
your nomination to the categories which apply, however you will still
need 2 seconders to ensure each nomination goes to the vote if they
have not been nominated by the 1st nomination system.
In the 2nd system of nominations each nomination and supporter gives
that particular choice 2 points. (ie if a particular website had been
nominated by someone and only seconded by 1 person it would receive 4
points, if it had been nominated, and seconded by 2 supporters it
would receive 6 points through this nomination system)
You can see the status of nominations, which will be updated as often
as possible at http://progressive.proboards24.com/index.cgi?
board=favourites&action=display&num=1076678837
