SAVE THE DATE!!!!!

PEOPLES FORUM AGAINST COCA-COLA WORLD SOCIAL FORUM, MUMBAI

JANUARY 18, 2004 1 pm b 4 pm A-13 NESCO Grounds

Join communities from India and Colombia as we gather to hold
Coca-Cola accountable for its destructive activities in India,
Colombia and globally!

Over 100 residents from Coca-Cola affected communities in India are
gathering at the World Social Forum in Mumbai from January 16-21
to demand that Coca-Cola immediately stop operations in India.
Coca-Cola practices in India cause severe water shortages and
contaminate any remaining groundwater in these communities. Organized
protests against the Coca-Cola Company in India are increasingly
being dealt with through violent tactics used by the state and the
corporation.

SINALTRAINAL, the union organizing at Coca-Cola plants in Colombia,
will also attend the forum. SINALTRAINAL union leaders and organizers
have been subject to a gruesome cycle of murders, kidnappings and
torture unleashed by Colombian paramilitary forces in complicity
with the Colombian Coca-Cola bottling subsidiary.

We urge you to join this important struggle to hold Coca-Cola
accountable and assert the right of communities over natural
resources. Look for our stall at the World Social Forum in Mumbai
and join the Peoplebs Forum Against Coca-Cola on January 18, 2004.

For more information, email Amit Srivastava (amit at igc.org) and
visit www.IndiaResource.org

Also email us if you will be unable to join the Forum in Mumbai but
would like to be kept updated on the Peoplebs Forum against Coca
Cola.

Sponsors of the Peoplebs Forum against Coca-Cola include Coca-Cola
Virudha Janakeeya Samara Samithy (Kerala), Joint Action Council
Against Sakthi -Coke in Sivagangai (Tamil Nadu), National Alliance
