Dear Fred,
 
Hola!  You bring out some salient points not mentioned, as you say, and elaborate on some that are, as well as point out some that aren't analyzed to any real extent.  Yet, the reality of almost evey point is eclipsed by the accepted paradigm in which this whole debate, the movie, and the conversation about it is being framed. The reality is that :)  anyone who doesn't know that the Gospels are The Roman Catholic Empire's revisionist history (as is much of the Bible), doesn't have the common sense they were born with; the fake degree to which the real concerns of potential anti-semitism in thought and behavior, following the movie, are Israeli propaganda to support their and the U.S.'s current political agenda; the movie was probably produced, and definitely timed to be released, as a political trump card to get the emperor re-throned, and possibly as a re-direction from Papal criticism of the U.S. supposed "war on error", and its being planned and instigated for the purpose of it
 being "unending", and possibly as a slight directed at the Papacy by Mel Gibson (and a bow to the supposed Christian coalition and the amoral minority), etc., for that criticism of the U.S.; to fabricate that Hollywood and the film industry aren't totally down with the devolution of all people (evidenced by movies like 'CrimeTime', 'In the Cut', etc.) by putting forth one that 'must prove them moral', and to fill up the multi-media conspiracies' agenda of "what is news" with populist b.s. like this, to keep real news of the republican conspiracies :) not preventing 9-11 on purpose, sending out premeditatedly planned and timed military anthrax attacks to terrorize Americans into accepting "unending" war as a viable substitute for foreign and domestic policy, as well as economic growth, not capturing Osama on purpose, outright lying about supposed intelligence, using fake intelligence, and making up intelligence, to get into Iraq with war they planned before the emperor was enthroned,
 Whitehouse leaks on C.I.A. operatives to silence their spouses, thereby risking their lives and committing treason, 'their' sending the ricin to themselves to attempt to re-terrorize the populace and re-direct everyone from the facts that the anthrax was sent to dempublicans alone and was 'their' planet al, giving everybody a safe and populist (excusing the amount of time spent on it because of this) subject to 'debate', to avoid all of the above and other important happenings like the U.S. military purposely not protecting Iraqi police and police recruits as they could, gay and lesbian marriage being forcibly pushed to the fore in a extremely close imperial election year (which alone could cost the dempublicans the election), Nader's run, etc..
 
"ASSEMBLY CALLS FOR GLOBAL RESISTANCE ON MARCH 20, 2004.  The General
Assembly of the Global Anti-War Movement called on the world to fill the
streets on March 20 to demand an end to the occupation of Iraq.  The General
Assembly of the Anti-War Movement convened on January 19 at the World Social
Forum (WSF) in Mumbai, India.

Meeting for the whole day, the Assembly began with an assessment of the
current political situation, followed by reports from various activists
involved in various anti-war movements around the world. Reports were
also made by many anti-war campaigns such as the World Tribunal on Iraq, the
"Close the US bases" campaign, the Campaign for Disarmament, the
Occupation Watch Center, the Caravans to Iraq and the Civil Missions to
Palestine.  It ended with a session dedicated to strategizing on ways
forward and common campaigns to be supported.  Envisioned to be the biggest
and most representative meeting of the anti-war movement since the invasion,
the Assembly was a collective effort by anti-war coalitions spanning all
continents of the globe.

The Assembly had participants and endorsers from the largest anti-war
coalitions around the world including the European Coalitions which
organised the massive marches on February 15th last year, Stop the War
Coalition in the UK, United For Peace and Justice and ANSWER in the US,
the Anti-War Coalition in South Africa and the Asian Peace Alliance, as well
as various social movements, trade unions and farmer and peasant groups
such as the CUT in Brasil, the Social Movements Network and Via Campesina.

Competing with the lively drumming of nearby cultural performers, the dust
and noise from the constant flow of passing demonstrations and the general
chaos of the WSF, the Assembly discussed, debated and strategized on the
ways forward to globalising the resistance and ending the occupation of
Iraq.

The Assembly ended with the call for an International Day of Action on March
20, the anniversary of the attack on Iraq. It calls for all movements in all
continents to organize mass protests on that day to demand the end of the
occupation of Iraq. Different countries will organise protests of different
scales and forms; the important point is to mark the anniversary across the
world.
Resistance in Iraq and around the world is growing daily and March 20th
will be the day when the global resistance tells not only Bush but all the
occupation troops and warmongers that the movement will not rest until
the occupation of Iraq and Palestine and the "war against terror" is ended.
