AP. 29 September 2002. Thousands Protest at Cheney's House.

WASHINGTON -- Thousands of people opposing a war with Iraq marched to
the residence of Vice President Dick Cheney on Sunday, culminating three
days of demonstrations.

"Many thinking people are questioning this war," said Rita Clark, 70, a
grandmother who said she was originally from Nicaragua. Clark, who has
arthritis, said she wasn't sure if she could complete the long walk to
Cheney's house.

"I don't know if I can get that far, but I have to do this for my
children and my grandchildren," she said.

Protesters, some holding signs that said "No Blood for Oil," blamed
Cheney for pushing the nation toward war.

Police estimated about 2,500 people turned out for the peaceful event.

"It's been a highly successful couple of days," said David Levy, a
protest organizer with the Mobilization for Global Justice, at a Sunday
morning news conference to evaluate the weekend of demonstrations.
