[R-G] Ukraine: Leftists call to 'prevent the third world war'

U.S. policy in Iraq.

KIEV -- About 500 demonstrators protested against U.S. policies in Iraq
in front of the U.S. Embassy in the Ukrainian capital on Monday. 

The Progressive Socialist Party and the minor political movement Russian
Bloc organized the protest against possible military actions against
Iraq and called for close Ukrainian air corridor for U.S. aircraft and
calling U.S. Ambassador Carlos Pascual a persona non grata. 

"We appeal to all the world's progressive powers to prevent the third
world war," said leftist leader Natalia Vitrenko. 

Protesters waved red flags and threw tomatoes at an effigy of U.S.
President George W. Bush.
