Both to Nick and Mark: How this works is irrelevant, since it will never see the
light of day for it's underminig of the real system leadership- the oil
industry. I don't need to tell Mark this, but it is time that those of us (like
my committed hitchhiker self) who despise car culture start to look at it as
more than a production line, more than a gas-guzzling issue-- but to overturn
the car culture that is engulfing our very air, water, and even remaining lands
(having just returned from part of Alaska, I can attest to the need to keep
people out of that part of the world and their "pipelines"...didn't Herbert
Walker once say that oil pipelines were loved by breeding caribou, that they
loved to rub up against it and generally make passes at these giant oil veins
and arteries?), we need to tackle the whole system. Nothing short will work,
simply ecause of whos interests it is to keep the very internal fabric of
*everything* wound in.

Nothing sterling but the silverware of the bourgeois has any shine at this
point.
