[R-G] Symbolisms: the first victim of the 1976 regime in Argentina

The first victim of the 1976 regime was _not_ a Leftist, neither a 
worker, nor a student. This victim wasn't either young, nor Jew, nor 
gay. 

Much on the contrary, the first victim of a murder by the troops of 
Videla and Martínez de Hoz was a military man, a "traditional" 
politician, a Peronist who had been the personal delegate of Perón 
and General Secretary of the Peronist Movement in Argentina during 
the 1966 regime, and who, as such, promoted the creation of the rebel 
CGT de los Argentinos. His name was Bernardo Alberte, and he was a 
retired Major of the Argentinean army.

Major Alberte was an old man when the criminals of the 1976 
dictatorship, on the very day of their irruption into power, chased 
him and killed him.

A symbol for many Leftists to think about, when they attempt an 
understanding of Argentina.

Now, the City Council of Buenos Aires will pay hommage to him.

HOMENAJE AL MAYOR BERNARDO ALBERTE
La Legislatura de la Ciudad Autónoma de Buenos Aires colocará una 
placa de bronce en memoria del Mayor Bernardo Alberte frente al 
edificio donde fuera asesinado el 24 de Marzo de 1976 por fuerzas del 
Ejército, convirtiéndose en la primera víctima del proceso militar.

Alberte fue delegado de Perón y Secretario General del Movimiento 
Peronista bajo la dictadura de Onganía, a la que  combatió 
frontalmente. Durante su gestión impulsó la creación de la CGT de los 
Argentinos. Después promovió la unificación de los sectores 
revolucionarios del Peronismo.

El acto tendrá lugar el domingo 17 de Noviembre de 2002 a las 17 hs. 
en la Av. del Libertador 1160. Harán uso de la palabra: la defensora 
del pueblo de la Ciudad Dra. Alicia 
Oliveira, Eduardo Gurucharri, Dr. Eduardo Luis Duhalde, diputado de 
la Ciudad Guillermo Oliveri, Eladio "Tate" Martinez, Raùl Roa,  
Marita Foix y Bernardo Alberte (hijo). La coordinación estará a cargo 
del periodista Gabriel Fernández.
