Below is a link to Wikipedia's entry on Cabral which sheds light on his real political character as a genuine national hero of his country and Africa's colonized people generally. It also suggests, consistent with the treatment of him in the excellent movie, "Cuba: An African Odyssey", that the use of the term "people" or one people was in the context of a nation that had many tribes with conflicts between them-that the Portuguese had conciously exacerbated-that this rhetoric was part of an attempt to overcome. to compare that to fascism is a gross falsification of history; I don't for a moment that certain Portuguese social democrats did that though.
