I really don't think China has the desire, ability, or will to "weaken" the
US. The US may weaken, as the entire network of capitalism weakens, but it
won't be China's doing.
Profitability has declined in China while fixed asset investment has
increased-- if there ever was an indication of and recipe for declining
rates of profit and overproduction, that is it.
Call me cynical and jaded, but I think China's asset buying spree around the
world is a bit like the US bourgeoisie selling Japan Rockefeller Center and
Columbia pictures during the 80s.
China is going to be stuck with some big ticket asset items in an economy,
domestic and international that cannot achieve the necessary return on
investment.
But we'll see soon enough.......
