I agree with J on this.  Hard to imagine, back then I guess, that the class 
line passed through Afghanistan and defending the PDPA from the capitalist 
assault by proxy-- but it did, and the world is so much worse off that the 
mujaheddin were victorious-- thanks to Carter and Reagan.
