I'm certain neither Lenin nor Trotsky said or thought anything of the  
sort. But one of the enthusiasts of "war communism" (Preobrazhensky?  
Bukharin?) did praise the printing press as "a machine gun that  
destroys the bourgeois economy from the rear."
