Bhaskar, don´t speak about what you don´t know a word.
Guevara did not share the hatred of the Guevaristas (left wing sepoys,
indeed) for Perón.
In Guatemala, he was working for a state owned Arg news agency.
When Perón was overthrown, he wrote very clear letters against those
who had overthrown him.
When in Cuba, he made arrangements to try to meet Perón. A secret
meeting is said to have taken place (I don´t buy it).
Perón, when he knew of Guevara´s death, declared that "one of ours has
died, perhaps the best of all of us".
Guevara´s criticism of Bettelheim, and his intention to push ahead the
industrialization of Cuba first and foremost, are direct consequences
of his own experience in Argentina under Peronism.
