[Marxism] A Retort on the Left and Elections

Here's the the problem, Mr. M. Despite the tagline, you fail completely to
grasp the root of the matter-- that voting for Dinkins will not in any way
shape or form deter, prevent, deflect the needs of the ruling class for
someone who will protect their property with more zeal, more zest, and more
brutality; that Dinkins himself weakens, disorients, the forces in
opposition to a Giuliani and thus prepares the way for his own defeat-- as
did James Callaghan of the Labor Party in the UK prepare the way for
Thatcher.

So, yes actions have consequences. And the real action that has the real
consequence is supporting the Democratic candidate whose goal is to coopt,
canalize, dissent and resistance into the established mainstream, thus
weakening independent opposition to the ruling class assault.

Anybody who thinks Dinkins offers more to anti-ruling class actions than
Nader or McKinney is engaging in at best, self-delusion, at worst,
deliberate deception.
