Yes, the same could have been said of the British bourgeoisie, and sometimes 
when I look at it, I think most of the world's ills are really the legacy of 
the British Empire, which of course is the same thing as saying the legacy 
of capitalist development.

I just think that, as you put it, and correctly in my view-- the most savage 
bourgeoisie ever hatched would torch the world in heartbeat if they thought 
they could make an extra dime selling the ashes.
