Suggest you read his "Open Letter to Soviet Leaders,"  a masterful 
exposition of his economic primitivism, zenophobia, and longing for the good 
old days of  Mother Russia.

 That's quite touching, about Putin and Medvedev, the current executives of 
the recomposition of capitalism in Russia bestowed their highest medal upon 
him.  Proves the point, IMO.

I said his novels stunk, not his memoirs.  The novels are unbearably trite, 
and religious in their embrace of suffering.
