Good points. Of course Hamas did a version of this during the cease
fire which Israel broke.
But I've been wondering about a related question, and there may be a
technical reason why this isn't possible: why don't they aim the
fucking Qassams at TROOPS rather than fire them aimlessly into
civilian areas? At least Hezbollah combined real attacks on troops
with aimless missiles -- and thank god they did!
Regardless of the answer to my question, the point made by Luko and
others about Hamas's political right, in fact duty, to resist,
including by military means, is key. (Just as, as much as Sherman's
policies toward Southern nonslave-owning civilians were tactically
stupid and sometimes counterproductive, we were still rooting for
him.)
