I heard the Israeli amazon (the Army or Ministry of "Defence" 
spokeswoman IIRC) confirm this story on Al Jazeera the day before 
yesterday. It was broadcast several times, but the first time I heard it 
was in a live interview.

She didn't say that they were pre-recorded messages, but did use the 
story to corroborate her assertions that they IDF was attempting to 
trying to avoid civilian casualties.
