My comment:

Shawn should try telling that to the Sioux or the Apache or the Maya.
Conquest is possible,  Militants can be crushed and "moderates" will then
emerge. The project of conquest of course it has its own rationality or
logic. I really think that calling what Israel is doing "irrational" really
functions to prevent us from analysing and acknowledging properly what is
going on.
