So the "real solution" is--giving Afghanistan back to the Taliban (in
"coalition" with their Afpak-govt partners in the heroin trade)!! Of
course not a word about the only real solution--the absolute necessity
to eliminate the heroin trade by the legalization of opium-poppy
cultivation and the formation of an Afghan-controlled manufacturing
and exporting authority for the purchase (at above-market prices) of
opium, its processing into morphine, and its distribution as medicine
throughout the world. Once the Afghan peasantry and working class
have a big tangible interest in a stable and protective government the
Taliban will vanish like they did in the brief interval before Bush
imposed Karzai's narcotrafficer Pathan regime on an unwilling loya
jirga that wanted
only to form a national unity government under the former king, Zakir
Shah!
