[Marxism] The Left and Support For Islamic Resistance

What is the issue here?  Is Israel conducting imperialist aggression against 
the Palestinian people?  Yes or no?

Do we oppose that aggression?  Yes or no?

If yes, Do we not then have an obligation, not moral, but political, class, 
social obligation to defend those resisting aggression?  The answer is 
clearly yes.  Defending that resistance does not imply an endorsement of 
every or any policy of those resisting except that resistance.  It is a 
class position.

WTF?  Black Panther Party, or the Republic of New Africa defends itself from 
police assault.  Do we support that resistance?  Of course. Does that mean 
we endorse every policy of the BPP or RNA.  How about Nation of Islam? 
Defends itself and its members from an assault by some  KKK style group. 
Maybe kills one in that struggle.  Do we defend the Nation of Islam? Do we 
oppose prosecution of the Nation of Islam in this matter?  Yes.   Hierarchy 
of  Nation of Islam is accused by US District Attorney of embezzling 
receipts.  Do we oppose that prosecution?  Most definitely.

The Taliban defends itself from US invasion.  Do we defend that?  Of course 
we do.  Does that mean we endorse the Taliban.  Of course not.

1936-40... US wants to undermine Vargas in Brazil, uneasy about his 
"friendship" with Germany in the upcoming war.  Vargas resists.  Do we 
defend that resistance?  Of course we do.  Do we know where Vargas is 
eventually going to wind up in this?  We should, so we point that out, but 
we defend the resistance against the US, UK, etc.

Why is the resistance of Hezbollah, Hamas, any different?  Does our defense 
mean we can't point out how historically Israel sanctioned, supported 
Hezbollah, as an alternative to the secular left?  No, it doesn't.   But if 
someone wants to say-- "Oh they, Israel and Hezbollah, are the same, they're 
equal"  that's baloney-- One, Israel, has created the other, the resistance, 
through its expropriation, its brutality, its aggression.
