If that word had a neutral definition and was commonly used in that  
sense; and
the nudnik in question (say, Clarence Thomas) had indulged in a self- 
description,
even without the word itself but precisely conforming to that  
definition; and if the
self-description had been presented to the whole world as a rhetorical  
master stroke,
yes I would indeed attach that word to him on every possible occasion  
(though, where list-rules forbid the spelt word, I would use the  
ellided form).

When Rove, or whoever wrote her speech for him, had Palin deliver that  
laugh line combining "mom," "pit bull," and "lipstick," all the media  
idiots went gaga about how brilliant it was.
