I find it interesting that MAS apologist Federico Fuentes chooses, as the main text on this topic to translate and post here and on his blog, an article from an Argentine capitalist paper! I guess he wanted to put forth a pro-MAS, pro-conciliation-with-the-right spin without attributing it to the MAS or its government.
Since I can read Spanish, although not as well or rapidly as I wish, I quickly found a few documented articles that actually discuss the content of the deal between Morales/MAS and the parties of the bourgeoisie and the ultra-right landlords. I don't have time to translate them now. For those who read Spanish, here are some URLs:

"Evo Morales entrega hasta su propia Constitución"
("Evo Morales surrenders even his own Constitution" 23 October 2008)

Blog: El Centro de Estudios Populares de Bolivia (CEP), includes:
"Evo y partidos tradicionales negociaron a espaldas de sus bases y del pueblo"
("Evo and traditional parties negotiated behind the backs of their bases and the people" 24 October 2008)
"Partidos tradicionales rearman la Constitución, hecha por la Constituyente, a su imagen y semejanza"
("Traditional parties rearm [?] the constitution, made by the Constituent Assembly, in their image" 21 October 2008)

* Since the new book Fred has co-authored with Marta Harnecker is titled: "MAS-IPSP de Bolivia: Instrumento político que surge de los movimientos sociales" ("MAS-ISIP of Bolivia: Political instrument that arises from the social movements"), I perhaps should call him a "self-proclaimed MAS apologist".
