By no means is Sarko an improvement. Like Obama, he's a
manifestation of what Capital needs at the moment. In the US,
capitalism needs the facelift that only Obama can provide. That's
why he's able to send $5m to West Virginia at the drop of a hat.

I would argue that the treatment given to the victims of what Tracey
James of Slave Revolt Radio calls 'Hurricane Sam' - the Gretna attack
and the bridge murder, Ray Nagin foaming at the mouth about [Black]
'looters' and calling for Martial Law, Kathleen Blanco giving 'shoot
to kill' orders, the fictionalized and animalized accounts (often the
fabricated testimonials of New Orleans' finest) from the Superdome &
Convention Center, the reporting of Jeremy Schahil and Malik Rahim,
the ethnic cleansing of the housing projects, the declarations by the
elites that NO will re-emerge more white - all suggest that the
operation was carried out in the manner it was because of the social
composition of the victims.

What they would have said - I don't know. At the end of the day,
though, I'm pretty sure both Blackwater and the National Guard would
have been there keeping order.

Solidarity,
Shawn
