Anybody who claims to be a Marxist, a Leninist, or even a Class-Struggle Anarchist should be able to say, even from Neptune, if they have internet access there, that there can be no socialist revolution in Venezuela unless the working class and its allies break with the pro-capitalist reformist "socialists". Whether the former will be able to drive the latter out of the PSUV, or whether they will have to split from that formation, is a question whose answer requires more detailed info than I have.
I'm not concerned, by the way, that many plebians didn't vote for the more right-wing and opportunist PSUV candidates, but I am concerned if many of the poor, especially workers, voted for the right-wing opposition. I gather that not very many voted for left-opposition candidates, unfortunately. I guess it's similar to the mass-psychology in the U.S., where very few people voted for McKinney or Nader, even in the so-called "safe states". Or, perhaps more similarly, to when few Nicaraguan plebians who wanted to protest Sandanista failings in 1990 voted for the Marxist-Leninist Party, but many voted for the rightists.
