[Marxism] A modest proposal [was: RE: The Earth as a whole]

Problem with stabbing away in the dark is that you can't see what you're
doing. Couple months ago, Joaquin floated his nuke all the white people
including the Japanese, who of course, have been nuked and twice. That's
Swiftean all right, or rather Swift Boatian.

What made Swift's modest proposal so outrageously precise is that is took to
the illogical extreme, the real essence of the ruler's attitude toward the
ruled, of the oppressor over the oppressed, identifying the basic inhumanity
of that attitude.

Joaquin offers no such thing. I don't want to argue the fine points of
satire, but let's be clear that the "humor" of Joaquin's "Kill 'em all, Let
God Sort 'em out" is based, not upon reversing the Malthusian formulation,
but upon an exaggeration of his various other color-determined
pseudo-analyses.

There's plenty to go at if you really want to have a go at the zero growth
advocates. I take a run at them every chance I can, but you really have to
have the lights on to hit the mark.
