[Marxism] A modest proposal [was: RE: The Earth as a whole]

I am going to take a stab in the dark and suggest that Joaquin intended his
post to be Swiftean, given he gave it the title of Swift's satirical essay
advocating letting the rich eat poor babies to resolve the question of
poverty.

In relation to environmental crisis, he simply reversed the situation, quite
logically given that, as he points out, it is the rich countries that are
actually sinking the ship.

I will take a further stab and say this is not a serious argument for nuking
the entire populations of the advanced capitalist nations, but an attempt to
use dead pan satire to have a go at the populationism arguments, which are
pretty much always about the need to reduce the population the impoverished
majority of the world.

That grotesque line of argument is no less grotusque than Joaquin's modest
propsal, and Joaquin's has the added advantage of at least being logical.

I agree with Joaquin, not about nuclear holocaust but about populationism.

Too many people?
