I have read a lot of Marxist books about the contemporary world, but
/Low-Wage Capitalism/ by Fred Goldstein is the most illuminating and
understandable in quite a while. It lays out the facts about the
globalized stage of capitalist production very clearly, reviews the
post-1975 resistance by labor with an eye to learning the best lessons
therefrom, and looks at the growth of labor union resistance with
confidence.

The author Fred Goldstein is a leader of Workers World party. This book
shows they have been doing some serious Marxist analysis of the
post-1975 world. The book is completely non-sectarian, accessible to
readers new to Marxism, and is a splendid example of the use of Marxism
to understand our world.
