As much as I am a fan of Nancy Pelosi's stylish shoes and willingness to
debate in a North Beach bar without losing her smile, I have to say that she
has always been an imperialist throat slitter who knows which side her bread
is buttered on. This is one of the reasons she has risen to the top of her
party, she knows the rules, loves them, and plays by them when they suit
her.

House Democratic leaders are putting together the largest Iraq war spending
bill

yet, a measure that is expected to fund the war through the end of the Bush

presidency and for nearly six months into the next president's term.
