Meeting Chavez-Uribe-Ortega Will Take Place despite OAS

Havana, March 18 (acn) The meeting planned among the presidents of 
Venezuela, Hugo Chavez, Colombia, Alvaro Uribe and Nicaragua, Daniel 
Ortega, will not depend on the results reached at the Organization of 
American States' Foreign Affairs Ministers, reports ABN news agency. 

The information was given by the Colombian Foreign Affairs Minister, 
Fernando Araujo, who stressed the will of Venezuela and Colombia to hold 
a meeting soon. 

At the headquarters of OAS in Washington, Araujo said that in a recent 
contact with his counterpart from Venezuela Nicolas Maduro, they both 
agreed to discuss a possible schedule for the meeting between their 
presidents. 

When asked about Colombia's expectations about the results of the 
Foreign Affairs Ministers' session, Araujo said that he believes this is 
the appropriate scenario to re-establish the ties between the nations. 

The minister went on to say "We support the results reached at the Rio 
summit, but we expect to take another step (...) We believe that this is 
the appropriate scenario to strengthen bilateral relations, specially 
between Colombia and Ecuador."
