[Marxism] Question, Obama, racism

A question which has probably occurred to many.

Obama has clearly shown his adherence to the corporate agenda on Iraq,
Palestine, health care, housing, free trade, immigration... In short, he
has shown himself a reliable prospect for the Democratic Party. Or has
made every effort to do so. However, should he gain the Democratic
nomination, I think we can be certain beyond a shadow of a doubt that his
opponent, whoever that may be, will dredge up every conceivable form of
racist filth, every stereotype, every fear, from the American psyche to
hurl directly or by allusion at Obama. To a very large degree, then, the
election will become a direct referendum on racism and white privilege.
For whom do we vote, then? Race trumps class for the sake of class? I'm
trying to fathom the consequences of THIS kind of election, this kind of
polarization brought willy-nilly into the realm of electoral choice, in
terms of its effect on ruling class hegemony, on the ruling class
consenus.
