Mehmet Çagatay quoting Lenin:

> and that the rise of monopolies, as the result of
the
> concentration of production, is a general and
> fundamental law of the present stage of development
> capitalism.

Mehmet, the concentration of capital is not synonymous
with the absence of competition and the personal
political rule of monopolists. The conception of the
state as the mere instrument of a financial oligarchy
is exactly what I find questionable about Lenin.

And as for the young Marx, as richly suggestive and
interesting his early and middle period writings are,
it is the Marx of Capital that interests me, since I
believe the critique of political economy is Marx's
main theoretical contribution.
