[Marxism] fronting for Morales

And I could say in response, there is a certain deliberate blindness that
seems to infect some who think that "government" is the revolution; that
legislative and executive power shared with and within the framework of
"populist capitalism" is a "stage" in the development of dual power.

The fact of the matter is that the old regime could not carry on as it once
did. Protests--in 2005-- had overgrown the issue of tax rates on
international oil and gas extraction-- that the general population of
workers and poor-- and poor make-up 70% of the population --were mobilized
independently of the government, independently of the existing parties,
including the MAS-- I can't think of a better substrate, medium, for the
development of councils, soviets, proletarian revolution.

The MAS undertook a massive effort to channel this movement back into
elections.

As for what Morales has done in "liberating" the government of Bolivia from
imperialism-- as is clear from the activities of the bourgeoisie, local and
international in Santa Cruz-- the issue is hardly settled-- just as it was
not settled by liberation of the Chilean government by Allende, but the
certainly was by the bourgeoisie in 1973.

"Those who make revolutions half-way merely dig their own graves."
