The NSW government has been forced to delay introducing its electricity 
privatisation legislation to the parliament until September. The Labor 
government has been forced into an agreement with the conservative 
opposition because the revolt of several Labor MPs deprived it of the 
numbers in parliament. The opposition's terms included a report by the 
state auditor general on the economics of the privatisation plan.
