Abu Hartal wrote, "On FISA, Obama was right that the alternative facing him
was the status quo or this bill which allows some very minor reform. So he
took the minor reform while saying that he was against immunity and hoped
for a change in the balance of forces."

I thought the reason Obama supported the bill was because he didn't want to
give up the government's surveillance tools:

"Sen. Obama has said before that the compromise bill is not perfect," his
campaign said in a statement. "Given the choice between voting for an
improved yet imperfect bill, and losing important surveillance tools, Sen.
Obama chose to support the FISA compromise."

At least Obama is honest, unlike some of his "left-wing" supporters.
