Even if, as Richard says, Mande's work is more an effort to provide an
empirical historical and social backbone to MET, in passing he explains
basic concepts of Marxist Economics, and I found that useful.

I do have the mind to start reading Das Kapital. As a matter of fact, I
was part of a group at UT-Pan American that started the Marxist Reading
Group (http://myspace.com/marxistreadinggroup) in order to start reading
Das Kapital. Unfortunately, we haven't quite gelled and the project has
stalled. I started re-reading E. Mandel's book because I found it
accessible.

Thanks to all compas for their input.
